Since its initiation in 1968, Nagano Industry Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as NKK) has been designing, manufacturing, and distributing hydraulic excavators as well as a variety of other construction machines, including articulated aerial platforms and crawler cranes, both of which were released in 1995. Put to active use in countries around the world, NKK’s quality products have their roots in a set of superior design techniques/technologies.
(1) Utilization of 3D CAD
(Three-dimensional computer-aided design)
By means of 3D CAD, NKK not only minimizes the cost of production but also ensures utmost reliability of its product design, thereby catering to the increasingly sophisticated needs of its customers.

(2) Computer-simulated, high-precision intensity analysis
Intensity analysis is one of the key elements of highly reliable product development. The computer-based simulation actualizes analyzing of intensity under the most severe of conditions. This process also identifies the material’s resistance to conceivable levels of external force, achieving an enhanced safety level.
(3) Durability and wear resistance
Durability and wear resistance are both key indices of performance of construction machinery. NKK puts its products through repeated tests of their durability and wear resistance at dedicated testing facilities. These tests are conducted under the actual working conditions, in order to ensure maximum levels of durability and wear resistance in NKK’s products.
(4) Cost effectiveness
NKK takes on the whole process of designing through manufacturing under a consolidated management system, aiming for manufacturing activities that combine in a high level such attributes as cost effectiveness, precision, and responsiveness.

 

    Production policies


At NKK's assembly plant, a line production system is in operation for an extensive lineup of hydraulic excavators and aerial platforms, supported by an efficient parts supply framework.
NKK also has within its premises a welding shop and fabrication plant, where cutting-edge techniques, based on the long-nurtured expertise and know-how, are utilized as per designs from the technical staff.
(1) Maintaining product quality through rigorous inspections
Thorough quality management is exercised at every stage of production process, so that NKK can deliver quality and safe products to customers. On top of conducting repeated tests by means of state-of-the-art instruments, rigorous maintenance and checkups are carried out on inspection equipments in order to maintain the reliability of inspections. Over and above, visual and manual examinations are given at regular intervals, ensuring safe and accurate process control.
(2) Improving productivity and product quality through QC (quality control) activities
NKK keeps up its quality control efforts to maintain a stable supply of top-quality products. NKK aims to formulate and implement an action plan where it can provide its customers with products of sufficient quality at a high level of productivity.
